Othman Al-Qasabi, Executive Director of Empowerment and Supervision at the Cooperative Health Insurance Council, confirmed that travel insurance outside the Kingdom is mandatory for groups under 18 years of age not covered by vaccination.
“Travel insurance outside the Kingdom comes in line with the efforts that the Kingdom is working on to reduce the risks of the Corona pandemic to citizens and residents,” Al-Qasabi said in a phone call to the “Al-Rased” program broadcast through Al-Akhbariya.
He continued, saying: “With regard to citizens, the mandatory insurance comes after the approval and determination of the travel document to cover Corona, for those who are not covered by vaccinations, as vaccinations are not given to those under the age of 18, according to the protocol followed by Weqaya.”
Regarding the insurance price, he said: “Pricing is done through an accounting process retracted by colleagues in the Central Bank, and the price that has been announced is 375 riyals and it covers many benefits, and it will be available to those who have taken the vaccination voluntarily and is renewed by the same mechanism of issuance and from the same channels.”
