The Special Forces for Environmental Security seized more than 12 tons of local firewood prepared for sale in the possession of (16) citizens and residents of Yemeni nationality, in violation of the environmental system and its implementing regulations that stipulate preventing the sale or transfer of local firewood.
This comes within the framework of the Ministry of Interior’s campaign represented by the Special Forces for Environmental Security and the supporting security authorities, in coordination with the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, in following up the activities of marketing, selling or transporting local firewood within cities, governorates and on the roads, and what is published in this field through various electronic platforms.
The spokesperson for the Special Forces for Environmental Security, Major Raed Al-Maliki, stated that the violators were referred to the concerned authorities to complete the regular initial procedures against them, in coordination with the relevant security authorities, and the seized quantities were handed over to the competent authority at the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture. Major Al-Maliki called on citizens and residents to report environmental violations through the Unified Security Operations number (911) in the regions of Makkah and Riyadh, and on the numbers (996) and (999) in the rest of the Kingdom’s regions.
