Instagram has added a new feature related to videos, in addition to improving the quality of its application that is used by more than a billion people every month around the world.
Instagram has launched a new caption poster that allows users to watch videos with Stories and Reels without having to turn on the audio.
But the new addition will not only make it easier for users who are hard of hearing or deaf to interact with video content, but it also provides a way for users to watch videos when they are in a place where they do not want the audio to play.
How to use the new feature
In order to use this feature, the user must first record a new video using Stories or Reels in the app, or select a video to upload from their own phone.
As for the second step, the user has to open the sticker box and search for the new Captions sticker, which converts his words into text, and the style, position of the caption, text and color can also be modified to match the content, and upon publishing the captions appear next to the video for everyone to see.
But the unpleasant news for application users in the Arab world is that the new feature is only available in English and in English-speaking countries, but Instagram plans to publish it in other countries and languages soon.
The company is also developing new additions as well, such as the Collab sticker, the Link sticker, the Reshare sticker, and others.
Instagram also announced earlier, a new tool that will allow users to automatically filter direct message requests that contain offensive words, phrases and emojis.
The message request filter can be turned on or off in a new section of the app called Hidden Words.
It is reported that there are 500 million people who use Instagram stories daily, and according to statistics published by AdEspresso, users spent an average of 30 minutes per day on the application platform during the year 2020, which is an increase of 4 minutes from 2019.
