In implementation of the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense – may God protect him – to create a department for maritime activities linked to the General Directorate of Border Guard, in order to achieve the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 programs, and to enhance the elements of tourism in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Ministry of Interior is the Department of Maritime Activities in the General Directorate of Border Guard, through cooperation and coordination via electronic linkage with the relevant authorities to license and organize marine activities and events, which include marine sports, diving, picnic and entertainment, marine tourism, and developing safety and security plans and instructions for their practice, and awareness of maritime safety .
The Saudi border guards, represented by the Maritime Activities Department, oversee the Red Sea Operations Room in Jeddah, which was recently created with the participation of (12) ministries and agencies to facilitate procedures for yachts and regulate their entry, through the unified contact number (1980) from inside the Kingdom and (+9661980) from Outside the Kingdom, or e-mail (maritime_activities@moi.gov.sa), in order to achieve coordination and integration between all security and service authorities, and to ensure the speedy completion of licenses and permits, and to overcome the obstacles that may face the beneficiaries of the service, in addition to following up and developing the practice of maritime activities.
