The Communications and Information Technology Commission, in cooperation with the Ministry of Commerce and the National Competitiveness Center, announced the start of the corrective period for establishments and individuals working to provide activities related to mail services in the Kingdom without a license and in contravention of regulations, and their entry into force for a period of 6 months ending on Rabi Al-Awwal 15, 1443 AH corresponding to October 21, 2021 AD. To facilitate the procedures for obtaining the necessary licenses in this sector, with the aim of protecting the rights of beneficiaries of postal services, enhancing the quality of service provided to them, and achieving fair competition in the market.
The authority stated that the postal services licensed in the Kingdom include «the transfer of letters, the transport of parcels, post boxes, official mail, financial postal services, parcel stations, and delivery services via electronic platforms», pointing out that the issuance of licenses is done through its website, and it called on all service providers other than Licensed establishments and individuals to rectify their conditions before the corrective period expires, and to communicate with them through official channels for the purpose of support and empowerment and to clarify all the steps required to practice these activities in a safe and attractive environment, explaining that the violation of the activity of providing postal activities services in the Kingdom without a license after the deadline expires. The facility shall be exposed to the penalties and fines legally prescribed by all government agencies, which may amount to financial fines and penalties for closing the commercial registry and suspending the establishment.
