The Governor of the Public Investment Fund, Yasser Al-Rumayyan, said that the fund’s investment portfolios are 6 portfolios, 4 of which are local and two global, revealing the companies in which the fund invests through these portfolios.
He explained that the investment portfolios invested locally in stc, Maaden, Al Bahri and Aqua Power companies. As for the portfolios that aim to develop and develop the sectors, they include “Entertainment 7” companies, the military industries and the helicopter company.
He added that there is a portfolio of investments in real estate or infrastructure projects such as City Vision, King Abdullah Financial Center, Central Jeddah and the new Downtown, while the portfolio of major projects includes NEOM, the Red Sea, Qiddiya, and Roshen Real Estate, and these projects began to move from the planning stage to the implementation stage.
He pointed out that there is a portfolio of global direct and indirect investments in emerging companies and future industries and building relationships and links such as Lucid, Uber and Babylon Health.
He indicated that there is a diversified global investment portfolio, which includes investments in the public and private markets, and includes fixed income instruments, shareholder rights, hedge funds, real estate investments and infrastructure.
He stated that the targets and the expected impact on the economy in the period from 2021-2025 include raising the value of the fund’s assets from 1.5 trillion to 4 trillion riyals, and investing one trillion riyals in the coming years locally in new projects, and contributing to the non-oil GDP by 1.2 trillion riyals in a cumulative manner and creating 1.8 million jobs, directly and indirectly.
