The Kingdom has advanced globally in the efforts of universities to publish Corona research, maintaining the first place in the Arab world, and advanced to the (14) position globally instead of (17) in the previous ranking, while it achieved the (12) rank at the level of the G20 countries, according to the rule Web of Science data. The Minister of Education, Dr. Hamad bin Muhammad Al Al-Sheikh, raised his thanks and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Highness, the trustworthy Crown Prince – may God preserve them – for their continuous support for education in the Kingdom, interest and care in research and innovation, and the preparation of all means for scholars and researchers in Saudi universities to achieve success, supremacy and global competition, stressing This achievement is a continuation of the great efforts made by the Kingdom, under its wise leadership – may God preserve it – in addressing the Corona pandemic, which reflects its ability and position in dealing with crises. The Minister of Education stated that Saudi universities published 84% of the Kingdom’s production of Corona research, indicating that the number of researches published in the Kingdom reached 915 scientific papers, with national efforts that began since the outbreak of the pandemic, extending his thanks and appreciation to the Saudi universities that contributed to the dissemination of research, as well as Faculty members and researchers, praising their role in community service. Dr. Al-Sheikh indicated that this achievement is an embodiment of the Ministry of Education’s keenness to organize events that enhance the participation of Saudi universities and research centers, researchers and academics in supporting the scientific research process during the pandemic, in addition to coordinating the efforts of universities through specialized workshops to raise research efficiency and their contribution to confronting COVID 19, and discuss ways of prevention and treatment of it, in addition to investing the research capabilities of university and research center employees, by finding scientific solutions that contribute to treating this pandemic and reducing its effects.
