Today, the Jordanian government affirmed to continue its efforts and actions on more than one level to stop the Zionist violations in Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the violations against the Palestinians in occupied East Jerusalem.
The official spokesman for the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Dhaifallah Al-Fayez, stated that the ministry warned the Israeli side of the consequences of continuing the violations, and demanded to stop them and that the occupying power abide by its obligations in accordance with international law and international humanitarian law and that it respects the historical and legal status quo.
Ambassador Al-Fayez also indicated that the ministry had conveyed its protest to the occupation authorities about the violations that the campus was subjected to, especially in the past two nights.
Ambassador Al-Fayez said that the violations committed by the Zionist police and special forces against the mosque and attacks on worshipers is a barbaric, unacceptable and condemnable act, calling on the occupation authorities to stop their violations and respect the sanctity of the mosque, the freedom of worshipers, and the historical and legal status quo.
On the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, Ambassador Al-Fayez explained that the Jordanian Foreign Ministry, in the framework of its continuous efforts to support the people to preserve their legitimate properties in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, directed an official memorandum to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Occupation in which the Jordanian government rejected the occupation authorities ’attempts to displace the people of Sheikh Jarrah from their homes and confirm them That Jerusalemites are treated as protected residents according to international law and international humanitarian law, and therefore the occupation authorities have no right to forcibly displace them from their homes, and that their displacement is a violation of international humanitarian law.
