Today, the Ministry of Commerce announced that, in cooperation with the Communications and Information Technology Commission, commercial establishments will be required to replace consumer service phones starting with “9200” to the toll-free number (800).
The Ministry of Commerce stated that, in cooperation with the Communications and Information Technology Commission, car dealerships were required, as a first stage, to set a toll-free number to receive customer complaints without paying communication fees to be borne by the consumer, and the second stage would be the rest of the commercial activities.
This comes in the interest of the Ministry of Commerce and the Communications and Information Technology Commission to provide a fair trade environment, and to provide the best services to the consumer.
This step comes as a first stage in the initiative of the Ministry of Commerce in coordination with the Communications and Information Technology Commission to raise the level of quality of services provided to consumers, especially those related to receiving complaints or after-sales services, provided that the second phase, which will be announced later, includes the rest of the commercial activities.
